Summit High School Football 2021

Salerno Duane Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram is pleased to once again sponsor the Summit High School football team and donate $5,000 to help them get what they need for a successful season! The Summit Hilltoppers are one of the winningest squads in the state of New Jersey and they proved that with their 39-12 victory during the season opener where they took on the Elizabeth Minutemen.

Salerno Duane Jeep Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram and TAPinto Summit team up to give out the Salerno Duane Summit High School Football Player of the Game Award after each game of the season. For Week 1, wideout Conor St.Amant and quarterback Charlie Schaffer earned this accolade due to their respective performances against Elizabeth.

They were able to complete 4 plays together, 2 of which resulted in touchdowns for the Hilltoppers. Schaffer was 9-20 for 243 yards & 3 touchdowns in total for the day, while St.Amant gained 104 yards combined for all 4 of his catches during the game.

Besides the game above, here is the team's regular season schedule for this year:

  • September 10 at Rahway, which the Hilltoppers won 34 to 13 thanks to the efforts of senior Matthew Loeloff & junior Will Johnson who were the Players of the Game due to carrying the ball 136 yards & punting 42 yards on average, respectively
  • September 17 at Cranford
  • September 25 vs South Plainfield, which the Hilltoppers won 44 to 7 thanks to the efforts of Players of the Game Colin Beatty & Charlie Schaffer for their combined 238 rushing yards on 18 carries while scoring 4 touchdowns
  • October 2 vs Carteret, which Player of the Game Colin Beatty helped the Hilltoppers win 21-14 due to his 66 running yards & 14 tackles during the game
  • October 8 vs Gov. Livingston, which was a 44-0 shutout thanks to the entire defensive unit who were named the Players of the Game for only giving up 89 yards in the entire game
  • October 16 vs Warren Hills, with juniors Will Johnson & Jake Lowry being named the Players of the Game for their respective performances
  • October 23 vs St. Frances (MD)
  • October 29 at Somerville, with Player of the Game Jake Lowry scoring the team's 2 out of 3 touchdowns of the game by gaining 113 yards on 24 carries
